![]() It's not the most difficult or in-depth rogue-like game but it is a good place to start for those who are new to the genre. Sword of Fargoal may not be everyone's game but for those of us who love old school rogue games, it's a definite hit. My one complaint with the controls is the inability to move the bag or action buttons where I would like them, mind you this is a small complaint. Mobs will attack you if you let the game just sit without hitting pause. The controls are easy even though the gameplay isn't completely turn-based. Having a different game/adventure every time makes it always feel fresh. ![]() One major thing that keeps me coming back is the randomization of dungeons. ![]() To me it's become almost more about beating my last score more so than when I beat it. Squire gives you unlimited lives, Hero is your normal mode and Legend is as hard as it gets! I play the game on Legend (glutton for punishment ^_^) and my experience thus far has been amazing! I may get upset every now and again when my guy dies multiple times in a row, however when you finally get a character to that 10th to 15th level and every step counts, it feels that much more rewarding. When you choose a quest you are given the option to play with three different difficulties. I do wish that it gave more info during this quest, however it was also fun for me to figure it out as I played. Welcome to Sword of Fargoal Legends, WINNER 'BEST RETRO GAME' 2010 BEST APP EVER AWARDS (iPad version) The classic dungeon crawler adventure, now reimagined in a brand new adaptation for the Mac Explore the perilous dungeon in your attempt to rescue the Sword of Fargoal. The training quest gives you a good tutorial on how to move and use spells.you know, the stuff you'll be doing every quest. There is additionally a Fargoal Lore choice on the bottom left that gives you some backstory and a crystal icon on the upper left that allows you to log into The Crystal Network, which I cannot seem to get to work. The game starts out with a nice animated intro, which leads to the main menu where you can choose to train, start or continue a quest, and finally ye olde settings. Compatibility: iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad.
